Hello, fellow robotics lovers, Rebecca here! This is... well it's hard to explain what "this" is exactly, because not even us girls know. To put it simply, this is the story of us; how our little team composed of engineering-loving girls was conjured up. We are an organized mess of wires and motors who tend to leave glitter in their wake.
Well, I guess I can begin with introducing each of us. The one on the left? That's Rachel! This is her very first year in robotics, so we consider her our "little". Rachel learned the ropes of the robotics room fairly quickly, in fact, much faster than Alexis and I did. She's kind to us, a complete sweetheart, and never fails to give us her leftover food from lunch. Not only do we love her for that, we love her for how she builds! Rachel is super motivated and eager to learn anything and everything about how to properly build a stable robot.
See the blonde girl with black glasses in the middle? Well, that's yours truly. I have no way to describe myself other than that I'm very sarcastic and short. My job on the team is to co-build with Rachel and to program. I started robotics my junior year of high school and I regret not a single moment of my time spent in the program. I have made countless friends that will last a lifetime and I've had so many wonderful opportunities to branch out of my comfort zone (which tends to be in the corner away from everyone). I've been told I write how I speak, so my sarcasm likes to make an appearance. My apologies. Not really.
Last, but most definitely not least, is Alexis! She can be easily identified via her long, wavy brown hair and killer winged eyeliner. Alexis is our team scout, an occasional builder, and she also is the author of our award-winning engineering notebook. Alexis is, by far, the sweetest person I know and also my best friend (I'm slightly biased, okay?). With the weight of being seniors on our shoulders, this robotics' year has become quite stressful. If it weren't for Alexis, I'm not sure how our team would have maintained it's calm and collected demeanor so far this season.
